Head of Marketing & Growth
MedervaUS / Remote (US)Remote
Full-time · Director · Posted no date given · via Y Combinator · Last checked 5h agoAbout the role
Mederva is an AI longevity lab on a mission to add healthy years to everyone's life. We help people halt, and even reverse, the progression of chronic disease and slow age-related decline, using AI and proven behavioral science.
The proactive care that the wealthy get from $100K concierge clinics shouldn't be reserved for the few. So we partner with healthcare providers to offer our AI and clinician platform to their patients, covered by insurance.
We were selected by Medicare's Innovation Center for its breakthrough new program, Advancing Chronic Care with Effective, Scalable Solutions (ACCESS). We're physician-founded, backed by YC, HF0 and top VC firms, and hiring our first dedicated marketer to own growth end to end.
### What you'll do
- **Own the funnel.** You own the path from first touch to active patient: the campaigns that bring in our business customers (clinics, practices and health systems) and the ones that turn their patients into active users. Whether that's optimizing paid social or building new funnels such as organic social and content, text and email, direct mail and print, or referrals through the clinics we already serve, you find what works, scale it and kill what doesn't.
- **Own our front door.** Make sure anyone who looks us up finds a company that looks credible and active. Website, social, blog, email, reviews, sales materials, plus case studies from our existing partner clinics and direct testimonials from patients and doctors that turn the work we're already doing into stories that help sign the next partner.
- **Run growth experiments.** Test new and underused channels like AI search, Reddit and online communities, creators and influencers, short-form video and events. Run many small bets, cut fast and scale what works.
- **Tell one story everywhere.** Turn what we do into plain language that lands with doctors, patients, new hires and partners, so the same story holds up on the website, in a sales deck and in a founder's post.
### What we're looking for
- **A builder with evidence.** You've personally grown a channel or funnel and can show where it started, what you changed and what happened.
- **Full-stack and hands-on.** You can write the ad, launch the campaign, build the nurture flow and fix the landing page yourself. You know when to bring in a specialist.
- **Comfortable as a team of one.** You've been the first or only marketer at an early-stage startup, ideally B2B or B2B2C.
- **Experiment-driven.** You test quickly with small, capped budgets, read the numbers honestly and move spend toward what works. You'll help us figure out where the returns are, not just spend a set budget.
- **Internet-savvy.** You follow what's working in growth right now and can reverse-engineer why something took off.
- **A creative writer within constraints.** You can write punchy, emotional copy in a regulated space without breaking the rules. Healthcare experience is a plus, not a requirement.
- **Two audiences, one story.** You can speak to a business decision-maker and to an everyday consumer, and make both feel it was written for them.
- **Startup-minded.** You're scrappy, fast and comfortable with ambiguity. You know generic content is just noise, and you're a strong teammate. We care about top performance and team chemistry equally.
### Compensation
Base salary $120K–$160K + 0.1%–0.5% equity.
The range above reflects our default US band. Compensation would adjust for higher-cost regions like SF, NYC, Seattle (~15-20%) and then other major US metros like Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston (~10-15%). Where you land within a region depends on experience and fit.
### How to apply
Send one or two examples of marketing you personally drove, ideally something you're proud of. Include the starting point, what you changed, and what happened. Bonus points for a test that failed and what you learned. Specific examples > a generic cover letter.
