Let Hyr fill your applications.
Apply with Agent opens the company’s form, fills it from your profile and resume, and asks you only what it can’t answer. You review it and click Submit. It works inside your own browser, so it needs the Hyr extension. Setting it up takes about two minutes, once.
Install in six steps
- 1
Download the extension
One small zip file, built from the same code as the store version will be.
hyr-extension.zip
Version 0.2.2 · 230 KB zip
- 2
Unzip it somewhere permanent
Double-click the zip to get a folder called hyr-extension. Move it somewhere you won’t tidy away, like Documents.
The browser runs Hyr from that folder, so deleting it removes the extension.
Documents / hyr-extension
manifest.json, icons, scripts…
- 3
Open your extensions page
Copy this address and paste it into a new tab’s address bar. Websites can’t link there directly, so it has to be pasted.
chrome://extensions - 4
Turn on Developer mode
The switch is at the top right of the page. It only lets you load an extension from a folder; it doesn’t change anything else about your browser.
ExtensionsDeveloper mode - 5
Click Load unpacked and pick the folder
Choose the hyr-extension folder itself (the one with manifest.json inside), not the zip.
Hyr appears in the list, and a new tab opens back here to confirm it worked.

Pin Hyr to your toolbar
Click the puzzle-piece icon next to the address bar, then the pin beside Hyr. Clicking the Hyr icon opens its side panel, which shows who you’re signed in as and what a form still needs.
Signed in on gethyr.app? It connects by itself. Reload any Hyr tab that was already open before you installed it.
Hyr
What it does
Click Apply with Agent
On any job from Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable or Recruitee.
Hyr fills the form
In a new tab: your name, contact details, resume and every answer you've given before.
You finish and Submit
The side panel lists what only you can answer. Hyr remembers it for next time, and never clicks Submit.
It also saves jobs you find on LinkedIn, Indeed, Naukri and Wellfound to Hyr: open the job, open the Hyr panel, and click save.
Questions
Why isn't it in the Chrome Web Store?
Not yet. Until it is, it installs from this zip, the way the browser lets anyone try an extension before it's published. When the store version is out you can switch to it and get updates automatically.
What can the extension see?
It runs only on the job sites and application forms it supports, plus gethyr.app. It reads a job page only when you click save, and fills a form only when Hyr opened it for you. It never clicks Submit, never touches a captcha, and leaves the voluntary questions about you (gender, ethnicity, disability, veteran status) for you to answer.
The browser warns about developer mode extensions
Some versions of Chrome show this when they start, for any extension loaded from a folder. It's expected for a hand-installed extension: close the message (don't choose Disable) and Hyr keeps working.
I installed it, but this page still says not installed
Tabs that were open before the install can't see a new extension. Reload the page. If it still doesn't show, check Hyr is switched on in chrome://extensions.
How do I remove it?
Open chrome://extensions, click Remove on Hyr, then delete the hyr-extension folder. Your Hyr account and saved answers stay on gethyr.app.
