Nature of WorkUnder direct supervision, operates a scanner imaging tax returns and checks for data capture and storage purposes. Rescans returns that have been rejected by the system. Keys data into the Fairfax and GenTax systems using given documentation and various systems/software to be uploaded and distributed to appropriate units, agencies, and department heads. Verifies and balances check MICR line information according to supplied documentation. Verifies data previously entered for accuracy. Manually reclassifies tax returns that were incorrectly coded utilizing a set of specific parameters. Reviews documents with issues that would cause delays in processing or have special handling rules. When necessary, assist in the retrieval of tax documents from outside sources (satellite offices, post office, other divisions, etc.) This requires a valid driver’s license and use of a state vehicle.
